Stonington Institute is committed to providing quality substance abuse treatment options for adults in Southeastern Connecticut and surrounding areas. We offer medical detox as well as residential addictions treatment for active duty and retired military service members in our North Stonington location. Our clinic in Groton, CT, offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment, and is conveniently located across the street from The Inn at Trails Corner, a new 180 bed dormitory-style sober community for adult men and women who attend our outpatient day treatment programs. The Inn offers overnight accommodations, full-meal service, indoor/outdoor recreation options, a workout room, and computer center for all clients. We accept private insurance, state-funded plans and self-pay arrangements. Position Summary: The primary role of the Certified Peer Recovery Coach is to provide clinically based peer support to each client in Detox. The Certified Peer Recovery Coach will help individuals in detox to create their own recovery paths by providing individual and group sessions. They will familiarize him/herself with community-based resources and use that knowledge to assist clients in accessing appropriate aftercare planning. The Certified Peer Recovery Coach meets with clients to provide recovery-based activities directly related to skill development, engagement in treatment, discharge planning from Detox and is responsible for routinely collecting and entering data, specific to treatment eligibility.

Requirements

High School Diploma Required
Must be a Certified Recovery Coach in the state of CT

Responsibilities

Meets with each client for individual check in to assist with recovery and/or relapse prevention skill development and to assist clients to make progress related to their own treatment plan goals and objectives.
Assists the Clinical Care Coordinators with completing discussed planning for each client admitted to the Detox Program, documenting progress daily on approved forms and assuring completion of Discharge Checklists, “Risk of Overdose” Form, Basis 32, and Satisfaction Survey for each client.
Maintains current awareness of step-down programming and community self-help services to help clients navigate resources in collaboration with the Clinical Care Coordinator.
Provides assistance in de-escalation and/or crisis situations with clinically based peer support.
