Bring your passion for patient care to our Baywood Ortho Med Surg Unit! As a PCA on our Ortho MedSurg unit you will work on our 28 bed specialty unit at our beautiful Banner Baywood location. You will have the opportunity to care for a variety of patients including musculoskeletal injuries such as hip fractures, as well as a variety of post surgical patients such as those who have had knee, hip, or shoulder replacements. While we specialize in Ortho patients, our unit will also support overflow from our general medical surgical unit allowing you to develop your skills in caring for patients with a variety of diagnoses such as pneumonia, wound care, post op gynecological or urological procedures, new ostomy site management, and more. Our unit leadership is invested in our nursing team, and supports your continued learning and development including support for those interested in continuing education and nursing career pathways! This position is a night shift working 6:00pm – 6:30am, three shifts per week. Our team uses a rotating weekends and holidays schedule. You will have the opportunity to utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift coverage as well as enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18% Night Shift differential when applicable! POSITION SUMMARY This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
