We are one of three facilities in the Valley to offer deep brain stimulation, a surgical option for some patients with Parkinson’s disease or essential tremor. The Observation service line is a fast-paced, 24-bed unit on 2N. As a Patient Care Assistant in our Telemetry unit focused on Observation status patients, you will be a part of a demanding environment with a wide variety of patient illnesses. This area features a dynamic similar to the ED, with the diagnostic work-ups and care needs of the Telemetry setting. This wide variety develops a strong clinical foundation and knowledge as you work closely with physicians, case management and experienced nurses. You may potentially float to other IP units, as needed. Daily you will be responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provide a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department. POSITION SUMMARY This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
