The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will assist the Occupational Therapist (OT) in providing comprehensive occupational therapy services. This role involves planning, developing, organizing, and evaluating therapy activities in accordance with facility guidelines. The COTA will facilitate telehealth services, ensure timely completion of evaluations and documentation, and communicate effectively with staff, residents, and families. Responsibilities include maintaining therapy standards, assisting with resident assessments and discharge planning, instructing residents and families on home programs and adaptive equipment, and ensuring accurate billing and timely documentation. The COTA will also perform administrative duties, report concerns to supervisors, and provide individualized occupational therapy services according to the Plan of Care.
