Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (WBHH) is a 117-bed psychiatric hospital providing comprehensive psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults. We offer acute inpatient stabilization and outpatient services. The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will be a key member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, responsible for providing therapeutic recreational and activity services to all patient populations, including Special Needs, Adult, Child, and Adolescent. This role requires a person-centered, trauma-informed approach that recognizes the potential for recovery and wellness in every individual served.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in occupational therapy from an AOTA-accredited program.
  • Current licensure by the Board of Allied Health Professionals, Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current Certification in BLS of Adult, Child and Infant.
  • 2 - 3 years of inpatient/outpatient psychiatric/substance use experience (willing to train individuals with a passion to learn)

Nice To Haves

  • American Occupational Therapy Association membership preferred.
  • IRF and/or LTACH experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and conducts group therapy
  • Provides assessment to identify patient needs
  • Documents pertinent clinical data following group
  • Provides individual assessment to patients as needed and makes recommendations to treatment team regarding needs for specialized rehab services or for planning for discharge and aftercare support.
  • Participates in maintaining inventory of supplies
  • Assists in maintaining unit arts supplies and reports issues to the Director.
  • Assists as necessary for projects, reports, and other duties as assigned by supervisor
