About The Position

Independence Rehab is seeking a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to work at The Willows Independent Living, Ashley Gardens memory care, and The Cottages Assisted Living in Bremerton, Washington. The three facilities are located on the same grounds, and the assistant will treat patients across all three. The role supports residents through rehabilitation, recovery, and long-term care, helping them make meaningful progress and improve their quality of life. The COTA works collaboratively with the therapy team and interdisciplinary care team. The caseload includes a diverse range of patients, including occasional clinically complex cases. Competency training is available.

Requirements

• Current Washington State Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license in good standing.
• Associate degree from an accredited OTA program.
• Organized, self-motivated, and patient-focused.
• Passion for working with the geriatric population.

Nice To Haves

• One year of skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience is preferred; newer clinicians with a strong interest in geriatrics are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients across The Willows Independent Living, Ashley Gardens memory care, and The Cottages Assisted Living.
• Perform and assist with all types of transfers.
• Provide adaptive activities of daily living (ADL) retraining and functional task practice.
• Collaborate with the evaluating occupational therapist and interdisciplinary care team.
• Support residents through rehabilitation, recovery, and long-term care.
