About The Position

The Center at Northridge is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic services to our residents, focusing on improving their independence, mobility, and quality of life within a skilled nursing environment.

Requirements

  • Valid COTA certification from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure in good standing.
  • Ability to physically assist residents with mobility and transfers.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist to help residents regain independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Assist residents with exercises, adaptive equipment training, and cognitive interventions.
  • Monitor resident progress and provide detailed documentation of treatment sessions and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents during therapy sessions.
  • Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs and the use of assistive devices.
