About The Position

The Arc Madison Cortland is seeking a motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a part-time position, working a maximum of 29.5 hours per week. The COTA will provide services under the direct supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, assisting in the implementation of occupational therapy treatment plans for individuals. This role involves working collaboratively with physicians and therapists, educating staff, completing documentation, and providing therapy in various skill areas.

Requirements

• Certified occupational therapy assistant with appropriate NYS license/eligibility.
• Valid NYS driver’s license with approved driving history.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing occupational therapy for individuals evaluated by the occupational therapist and in conjunction with OT treatment plan
• Follow the treatment plan established by the OT and approved by individual's physician
• Work in conjunction with the individual's physician and therapist in course of treatment.
• Educate/train ancillary staff members on treatment plan
• Completes all necessary documentation and billing forms on a daily basis as required.
• Provides therapy in functional, prevocational, vocational, homemaking skills, and activities of daily living.
