About The Position

Summa Homecare & Hospice is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join their team. Requirements

Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) with current license in the state of employment.
Minimum one-year experience as an OTA in an acute care setting.
Valid driver's license and auto insurance in your name as a driver.
Capable of all physical demands.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive skilled services as ordered by the attending physician.
Educate patients and their family members and ensure the safety of the patient.
Complete accurate documentation and remain compliant with all legal rules and regulations.
Provide skilled occupational therapy as ordered by the attending physician and observe and monitor patient conditions and notify the Occupational Therapist of any changes in the patient’s condition.
Assess functional problems and provide intervention and, in conjunction with the occupational therapist, work toward goals to improve patient functional status.
Counsel patient and family on the disease/injury and how to manage in all phases of occupational therapy.
Instruct patient and family members on proper use of equipment such as wheelchairs, braces, walkers, crutches, canes, and other prosthetic/orthotic devices.
Complete all clinical documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines.
Understand and follow agency policies, procedures, rules, and regulations and communicate changes in schedule/availability to schedulers or supervisors.
Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings.
