About The Position

Summa Homecare & Hospice is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join their team. Requirements

  • Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) with current license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum one-year experience as an OTA in an acute care setting.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance in your name as a driver.
  • Capable of all physical demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Home care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive skilled services as ordered by the attending physician.
  • Educate patients and their family members and ensure the safety of the patient.
  • Complete accurate documentation and remain compliant with all legal rules and regulations.
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy as ordered by the attending physician and observe and monitor patient conditions and notify the Occupational Therapist of any changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Assess functional problems and provide intervention and, in conjunction with the occupational therapist, work toward goals to improve patient functional status.
  • Counsel patient and family on the disease/injury and how to manage in all phases of occupational therapy.
  • Instruct patient and family members on proper use of equipment such as wheelchairs, braces, walkers, crutches, canes, and other prosthetic/orthotic devices.
  • Complete all clinical documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines.
  • Understand and follow agency policies, procedures, rules, and regulations and communicate changes in schedule/availability to schedulers or supervisors.
  • Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings.
