In-Home Occupational Therapy Assistant – Functional Independence Coach
About The Position
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work with patients recovering from surgery, illness, injury, or neurological conditions, helping them regain the skills they need to live safely and independently. Requirements
- Active Minnesota Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license.
- Strong communication and patient education skills.
- Compassionate, self-motivated, and organized.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Home health experience is welcomed but not required.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Help patients improve independence with activities of daily living and functional mobility.
- Reinforce therapeutic exercises, adaptive strategies, and home safety recommendations.
- Educate patients and caregivers on equipment and techniques that promote long-term success.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the care team.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation.
