About The Position
Goodwin Living is hiring a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for its home health team serving Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William in Northern Virginia. The COTA works under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist to deliver home-based treatments that help patients improve functional abilities, safety, independence, and quality of life. The position offers autonomy in arranging visits with patients and is described as flexible, with a framework within typical 9-to-5 hours. Pay is $55 per visit.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AOTA-approved COTA program.
- Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Adult CPR certification.
- Virginia driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and readily available reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized occupational therapy treatments in patients’ homes according to plans of care devised by Occupational Therapists, addressing functional losses due to disease or injury.
- Communicate patient progress and concerns to Occupational Therapists and suggest adjustments to the plan of care.
- Teach patients and caregivers home exercises and safety practices to support active participation in treatment.
- Coordinate care with nursing staff, home health aides, and other therapists.
- Document treatments and services in accordance with Medicare guidelines and agency protocols.
