Compassionate and patient-focused Occupational Therapy Assistant with experience supporting Occupational Therapists in delivering individualized treatment plans. Skilled in conducting patient assessments, implementing therapeutic interventions, and assisting individuals in improving motor skills, coordination, and daily functional abilities. Proficient in educating patients on the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices, monitoring progress, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

  • Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in CT
  • Knowledge of occupational health, physiology, and anatomy
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and medical imaging techniques
  • Ability to drive to multiple patients home

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Geriatric patients is preferred
  • Experience in home health or rehabilitation settings
  • Experience working with geriatric or post-acute care patients
  • Strong documentation and patient education skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to patients under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine patients' needs and goals
  • Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' motor skills, coordination, and functional abilities
  • Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and assistive devices
  • Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
