Requirements

Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Passing of the NBOCT Exam
Missouri State Licensure
BLS required.
Ability to carry out treatment plans under guidance of an Occupational Therapist.
Display skill with occupational therapy equipment, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology.
Have an understanding of various medical conditions.
Have exceptional communication and intrapersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and the ability to build rapport with patients and other professionals.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on assistance to patients during exercises and activities.
Monitor and document patient progress, report observations to the supervising occupational therapists.
Assist in educating patients and their family members.
Maintain and organize therapy equipment and treatment areas.
Provide occupational therapy services to a diverse patient population.
Apply various techniques and knowledge of current occupational therapy methodologies.
Ensure patients understand and follow through with prescribed plans.
