This position is for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who will assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan, under the supervision of an occupational therapist, to improve patients'/residents'/clients' quality of life and ability to perform daily activities. The COTA will provide, monitor, and record therapy services to patients/residents/clients with physical, cognitive, developmental and psychosocial impairments. They will select, implement, and make modifications to therapeutic activities and interventions consistent with competency levels, patient goals, and practice setting requirements. The COTA will exchange information with and provide documentation to the occupational therapist regarding patient responses and communications during intervention, and will be knowledgeable about targeted occupational therapy outcomes and provide documentation related to outcome achievement. The role adheres to accepted clinical practice guidelines and may perform other related duties as requested. Depending on location and facility needs, work may focus on those receiving intervention in the post-acute, long term care, and home health care environments.
