The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will assist the Occupational Therapist (OT) in planning, developing, organizing, evaluating, and directing occupational therapy activities. This role involves facilitating Telehealth services, communicating with other departments, maintaining therapy standards, and interpreting recommendations to staff and residents. The COTA will also assist in instructing residents and family members, maintaining documentation, ensuring accurate billing, and performing administrative duties. Key responsibilities include interviewing residents to evaluate skills, addressing Plan of Care goals, determining appropriate treatment, and preparing necessary equipment. The COTA will also participate in staff development, safety and sanitation protocols, and manage equipment and supplies efficiently. Upholding resident rights and adhering to HIPAA requirements are crucial. The role involves working in various environments within the facility and requires constant alertness for resident safety.
