About The Position
Putnam Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a 160-bed Skilled Nursing Facility hiring for both a Full-Time and a Full-Time TEMP Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing rehabilitation team. Our Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will work closely with Occupational Therapists and the interdisciplinary care team to help residents improve activities of daily living (ADLs), strength, and independence.
Requirements
- Current COTA license in good standing with the NYS Board of Education.
- Certification through AOTCB required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation setting preferred.
- Knowledge of MDS, PRI, and care planning preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing occupational therapy treatment programs.
- Provide therapy services to improve ADLs, mobility, and functional independence.
- Document therapy sessions and resident progress accurately.
- Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide adaptive equipment and recommend environmental modifications when appropriate.
- Educate residents and caregivers on therapy techniques and treatment plans.
- Maintain therapy supplies, equipment, and treatment areas.
- Follow all facility policies and rehabilitation documentation standards.
