The primary purpose of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant position is to assist in providing appropriate aspects of quality patient care under the supervision of licensed therapists. This role involves implementing and executing established patient treatment plans, communicating with patients, families, physicians, and team members, and providing timely written documentation. The COTA also develops clinical and professional skills, supports department operations, and reports changes in patient status to supervising therapists. Associate responsibilities include preparing and submitting patient charges accurately, meeting productivity standards, ensuring safety, achieving quality patient care through interdisciplinary communication, attending required meetings, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining valid licensure and certifications.
