About The Position
Carriage Hill Bethesda, a Vierra Communities property, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist to provide in-house care in a skilled nursing setting on a PRN basis. The role focuses on assessing residents’ medical conditions, functional abilities, limitations, and rehabilitation potential, then administering treatment programs under a physician’s direction. The therapist documents patient condition, educates patients and families, and collaborates with the care team to support coordinated care and positive treatment outcomes. Requirements
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and compassion when caring for elderly patients.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assess medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations, restrictions, and rehabilitation potential.
- Administer treatment programs with specific goals based on the patient’s capacity and tolerance under the direction of the physician.
- Document and record patients’ conditions.
- Educate patients and families about appropriate therapy methods and strategies to improve daily living skills and promote overall health.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in patient care meetings and contribute to team discussions about best practices and treatment outcomes.
