Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
About The Position
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join an interdisciplinary care team. This role focuses on providing personalized occupational therapy services to adult and geriatric participants in both center and home-based settings. The position offers lower patient volumes compared to traditional therapy settings, allowing for more meaningful, individualized care and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with participants. The COTA will serve primarily adult and geriatric participants with complex needs, developing expertise in functional rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
- Valid California COTA/OTA license, or proof of eligibility for licensure
- Strong clinical knowledge relevant to adult and geriatric rehabilitation
Responsibilities
- Deliver occupational therapy treatment programs under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Implement individualized interventions designed to improve ADLs, mobility, balance, endurance, cognition, coordination, and functional independence
- Assist with vital signs, range-of-motion assessments, strength testing, and other components of participant care
- Coordinate treatment activities with the broader Rehabilitation and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT)
- Provide services in both center and participant home settings, adapting interventions to real-world functional needs
