About The Position

HealthPro Heritage is hiring a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for an assisted living community in Randolph, New Jersey. Therapy is provided Monday through Friday, with no evenings or weekends. The role supports individualized care under treatment plans developed by an Occupational Therapist, helps patients improve daily living skills and independence, documents progress, and collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. The stated rate is $40–$42 per hour. New graduates are encouraged to apply; previous occupational therapy experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in an Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited school.
• Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Current state licensure, or eligibility for licensure, to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.

• Previous experience in an occupational therapy setting, such as a hospital, clinic, or school; new graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering individualized therapy based on treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist, including activities that improve daily living skills such as dressing, eating, and mobility.
• Track and document patient progress, maintain accurate records in accordance with facility policies, and report changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and nursing, to provide holistic care.
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, and strategies for independence.
• Lead or assist patients with exercises, activities of daily living, and other therapeutic tasks, creating a positive and supportive environment that encourages engagement.
