About The Position

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) works under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR) to provide treatment to eligible children (birth to 36 months old) and their families. The COTA assists the OTR in complex treatment procedures, documents patient progress, and confers regularly with the OTR. This role is responsible for active treatment and documentation of services delivery/needs, serving Fort Bend and Waller Counties.

Requirements

• Knowledge of infant/child development
• Knowledge of early intervention techniques
• Knowledge of community resources
• Knowledge of assessment techniques
• Interpersonal skills for positive interaction with individuals
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate both orally & in writing
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in applying departmental policy & procedure
• Ability to use/interpret standardized testing instruments
• Texas Driver's License
• Current license Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual and Pediatrics experience
• Previous work experience in pediatric therapy
