Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA)
About The Position
HealthPro Heritage has a great Part-time Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to join our team at our resort-style assisted living community in Jacksonville, FL. Home Health experience is preferred but not required. This position offers a flexible schedule of 2-3 days per week (15-25 hours) with no evenings or weekends. Some part-time benefits are offered. The ideal candidate will have 2-5+ years of experience in ALF, SNF, memory care, or geriatric outpatient settings, with experience in dementia, neuro, and behavioral symptoms, as well as ALF-based outpatient programs. Strong cuing and communication skills are essential, along with availability to work on weekdays (Mon-Fri) between 9 AM to 4 PM. You will be part of a supportive team environment with a collaborative on-site care team and a therapist-led organization with strong clinical support. We ensure smooth onboarding for part-time clinicians.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited school.
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Previous experience in an occupational therapy setting (hospital, clinic, school, etc.) is preferred, but new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience with dementia, neuro and behavioral symptoms
- Experience with ALF-based outpatient programs
- Strong cuing and communication skills
- Availability to work on weekdays (Mon-Fri) between 9 AM to 4 PM

Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering individualized therapy based on treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist, including activities to improve daily living skills (e.g., dressing, eating, mobility).
- Track and document patient progress, maintaining accurate records in compliance with facility policies, and report changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., PT, OT, nursing) to provide holistic care, and educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, and strategies for independence.
- Lead or assist patients with exercises, activities of daily living, and other therapeutic tasks, while creating a positive and supportive environment to encourage patient engagement.
