About The Position

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with Select Medical, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant for its inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Peoria, Arizona. The hospital provides care for people facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The position is full-time, with five 8-hour shifts per week. The COTA treats patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT), and reports directly to the OT. Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and, in collaboration with an OT, modify treatment during sessions as indicated.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
