About The Position

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a flexible/PRN role in Austin, TX. This position focuses on providing functional rehabilitation in real-life settings such as home, school, work, and the community, rather than a traditional clinical environment. The ideal candidate thrives in an autonomous setting while valuing collaboration with a team of dynamic therapists. The role involves in-person, 1:1 therapy with indirect services performed from home for documentation and communication, following a continuity of care model. Drive time is reimbursed at the clinical rate plus mileage. There are no weekend shifts required. The company offers access to educational programs and opportunities for growth and advancement.

Requirements

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification and license to practice in state of application
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred, related to treatment of complex neurological injuries
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in exercise, ADLs, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices in accordance with the treatment plan established by the Occupational Therapist
• Assist Occupational Therapist in the collection of outcome measures and completion of complex treatment procedures
• Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed by the Occupational Therapist
• Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all care provided
• Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to the AOTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
• Perform other duties as assigned
