Port View Preparatory is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. Under the guidance and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will help design and deliver engaging therapeutic programs that empower students with diverse needs to thrive in their educational environments.

Requirements

  • 1–4 years of experience as a COTA (school-based experience preferred)
  • A collaborative spirit and passion for supporting students with diverse needs
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive and engaging learning environments

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the supervising Occupational Therapist to plan and implement meaningful, student-centered intervention programs.
  • Support students' IEP goals by providing accommodations and strategies aligned with OT recommendations.
  • Train teachers and staff to ensure carryover of therapeutic techniques in the classroom.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, families, and specialists to promote student success.
  • Participate in team meetings to help shape supportive learning environments.
  • Assist with instructional support and pre-referral activities (non-evaluative).
  • Create and adapt materials to enhance student participation and independence.
  • Contribute to progress reporting and documentation in coordination with your supervising OT.
  • Deliver individual, group, and consultative interventions across school settings.
  • Help manage caseload responsibilities consistent with district and OT department standards.
