About The Position

The incumbent shall be responsible for providing, under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, therapeutic interventions in a team environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to performance improvement activities as applicable, problem solving, and productivity.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AOTA approved Associate’s degree program or equivalent training.
  • Hold an applicable and current state license or certification to practice.
  • Current BLS certification required or obtained within ninety days of completing new employee orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with adult and geriatric populations is desirable.
  • Experience working in the acute care setting is desirable however is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide age appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment.
  • Document the course of patient care in the electronic medical record including progress made and continuing need for treatment.
  • Provide patient and family education on tasks and resources that support continued functional independence and document same in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to develop new methods of delivering education to patients and family.
  • Participate in discharge planning as part of the interdisciplinary team.
