About The Position

SSM Health Rehabilitation - Acute Care St Joe West Hospital is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a Full-Time position in Lake Saint Louis, MO. SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - Lake Saint Louis serves residents of western St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren Counties, offering exceptional healthcare. The hospital is a state-designated Level III Trauma Center, a Level II Time Critical Diagnosis STEMI Center, and specializes in obstetric and pediatric care, among other specialties.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in a OT Assistant program required.
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required.
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a licensed OT, assists with the implementation of the therapy plan of care.
• Responsible for delegation and direction of supportive personnel for those assigned patients, in order to enhance patient care services.
• Consistently communicates with supervising OT in regard to scheduled patients to ensure identification of need for assessment and reassessment of patients, modification of treatment plans and other interventions requiring therapist direction.
• Participates in education of patients, families, students, coworkers and self.
• Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, within the scope of practice.
