About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant, referred to as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) at Mass General Brigham, operates as a vital member of the patient care team under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role involves proficiently and consistently executing all aspects of the PCA duties. The PCA is responsible for assisting the RN with clinical tasks such as monitoring blood glucose levels, performing EKGs, applying simple dressings using aseptic technique, and responding effectively to medical emergencies with Heartsaver CPR and AED skills. Additionally, the PCA plays a crucial role in addressing the needs of patients and their families, and actively contributes to the efficient functioning of the unit. The position emphasizes the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model within an environment that exemplifies best practices. Prior CNA/PCA experience is preferred. This position is classified under Grade 130.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate required.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant license required.
  • AHA Heartsaver, CPR and AED program required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior PCA/CNA experience preferred.

Responsibilities
