Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)- Long Term Care- Day shift
About The Position
Hendricks Community Hospital Association is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for our Long Term Care unit. This position offers the opportunity to begin or advance your healthcare career, with no prior experience necessary as we provide Certified Nursing Assistant classes at no cost to you. Our CNAs are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for our long-term care residents. We are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team at Hendricks Community Hospital, an independent healthcare facility located in a friendly small town setting. Weekend and shift differentials are available. Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required. The day shift is from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The starting hourly wage is $22.50, with the rate based on experience.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
- Genuine interest in geriatrics.
- Ability to provide quality resident care following each individual care plan.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain emotional stability under stressful conditions.
- Flexibility to handle changing situations and emergency needs.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Providing residents with assistance as needed with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, mobility, and any other aspect of ADL’s (activities of daily living).
- Attending to residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being according to each resident’s need.
- Communicating and relating in a positive manner with residents and responding appropriately to resident behaviors.
- Adhering to the team concept and working collaboratively with co-workers for the benefit of residents and the facility.
- Knowing and applying safety and emergency procedures pertaining to a long-term care facility.
- Practicing infection control procedures.
- Exercising independent judgment and maintaining emotional stability under stressful conditions.
- Handling changing situations and emergency needs with flexibility.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality.
