About The Position

Concordia Lutheran Ministries is offering a unique opportunity for individuals to train for free and become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The next CNA class begins in early September and offers a competitive spot with paid training. This three-week program includes classroom instruction and lab skills. Concordia covers the cost of the class and materials, and participants are paid $17.50/hour while attending. Upon graduation from the class, prior to testing, students will be paid $20/hour while working on the floor. Additional shift differentials are provided for afternoon ($2.00/hour) and midnight shifts ($1.50/hour), as well as an extra $1.00/hour for weekend shifts. Once CNA certification is obtained, the base wage increases to $21/hour. Full-time and part-time positions are available for afternoon and midnight shifts, with an every-other-weekend rotation.

Requirements

• Must be caring, compassionate and understanding
• High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with eating and drinking
• Ambulating, transferring, toileting, bladder and bowel management
• Personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, turning and positioning
• Documenting the care that was provided
• Providing treatment per the ADL/treatment book
• Answering resident call bells and responding to needs promptly
