About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide for patients’ personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves, and assisting with showers. The CNA will also assist with meals and feeds patients, ambulates, turns, and positions patients, and provides fresh water and nourishment between meals. Additional duties include administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeutic and sitz baths, and applying restraints. The CNA will perform sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care. They will answer patients’ call lights and requests promptly, maintain a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff, and transport patients and equipment. The CNA will report patient conditions to the assigned nurse to ensure professional assessment. They will measure and record food and liquid intake and output, and check and record vital signs. The CNA will provide patient help with walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed. The role adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Nursing Assistant license
  • Minimum 0 - 1 year of relevant experience
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
