About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role is essential in ensuring patient safety, assisting with daily living activities, and supporting the healthcare team in delivering high-quality care to residents in a long-term care setting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited CNA program
  • Active New Jersey CNA License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Sub-Acute and/or Long-Term Care settings
  • Strong communication skills in English (read, write, and speak)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Sub-Acute Rehabilitation (SAR) and Long-Term Care environments
  • Strong teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care including bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, incontinent care, and bed making
  • Measure, record, and promptly report vital signs to the nursing team
  • Perform and document glucose monitoring (finger sticks) and assist with specimen collection (urine, stool, sputum)
  • Monitor and document intake/output and daily weights
  • Respond to call lights and report any changes in patient condition immediately
  • Assist as a patient sitter when required for safety monitoring
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment
  • Support patient mobility, positioning, and comfort measures
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Follow infection control protocols and safety standards at all times
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care
