Edgefield Post Acute is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team.   • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents.
  • Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Help residents safely transfer and ambulate.
  • Take and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team.
  • Answer call lights promptly and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families.
  • Provide each assigned resident with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan.
  • Identify residents before administering treatments or serving meals.
  • Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative and descriptive manner.
  • Report all accidents and incidents observed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Perform only trained nursing care procedures.
  • Ensure resident rooms are ready for new admissions.
  • Greet and escort residents to their rooms.
  • Introduce residents to roommates and other personnel.
  • Make residents comfortable.
  • Inventory and mark resident's personal possessions.
  • Store resident's clothing.
  • Assist residents with packing personal possessions for transfers or discharge.
  • Transport residents to new rooms or receiving areas.
  • Assist in loading/unloading residents to/from vehicles.
  • Create and maintain a warm, personal, and positive atmosphere.
  • Participate in nursing staff meetings to identify and correct problem areas.
  • Report resident complaints and grievances.
  • Participate in and receive nursing reports.
  • Follow policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
  • Make beds and provide extra covers as requested.
  • Measure and record resident's TPRs.
  • Weigh and measure residents.
  • Ensure residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
  • Check residents routinely for personal care needs.
  • Assist residents with identifying food arrangements.
  • Record resident's food/fluid intake and report changes in eating habits.
  • Keep resident's water pitchers clean and filled.
  • Perform after-meal care.
  • Follow work assignments and schedules.
  • Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel.
  • Notify the facility when late or absent.
  • Report occupational exposures.
  • Assist residents with daily functions (dental and mouth care, bath functions, grooming, dressing).
  • Keep residents dry.
  • Assist residents in preparing for medical tests.
  • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents.
  • Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures.
  • Assist in preparing residents for physical examinations.
  • Observe and report skin breakdowns to prevent bedsores.
  • Report injuries of an unknown source.
  • Observe disoriented and comatose residents.
  • Perform special treatments as instructed.
  • Immediately notify the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any resident leaving/missing.
  • Report defective equipment.
  • Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of resident information.
  • Report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property.
  • Honor resident's refusal of treatment request.
