About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the assigned Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant performs a variety of direct patient care activities to address patients’ personal needs and comfort. The role provides care for patients from infancy through old age and accommodates needs related to impairments, including hearing or sight impairment, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential abuse. The employee incorporates the hospital’s commitment to patient rights, exceptional care, values, and mission into job performance and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff and patients.
Ability to prioritize multiple requests and provide timely patient care.
Compassionate, empathetic, and responsive approach to a variety of patients.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience as a nursing assistant, or matriculating nursing-program student who has completed Fundamentals of Nursing I & II.
Valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license, or proof of enrollment in an accredited nursing school and completion of Fundamentals of Nursing I & II.

Nice To Haves

Computer experience is preferred.
