Job Summary The Hospice Aide (CNA) provides hands-on personal care to patients in accordance with the care plan developed and supervised by the RN. This role is essential to ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and consistency of care in both home and facility settings. Requirements

  • Current Texas CNA certification
  • Current CPR certification (Healthcare Provider)
  • Current TB test (or willingness to obtain; may be provided)
  • Valid (non-expired) Texas driver’s license
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of an approved nursing assistant program
  • Acceptable professional references
  • Ability to pass pre-employment CNA competency evaluation
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in hospice, home health, or hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and hygiene support: Bathing, grooming, oral care, and toileting
  • Assisting with showers, bed baths, and personal hygiene needs
  • Assist with mobility: Turning, positioning, and ambulation
  • Support daily living activities: Meal assistance and basic nutrition support
  • Provide light housekeeping in the patient’s immediate area
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN clearly and promptly
  • Build trust with patients and families through respectful, compassionate care
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and approach to care
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team
  • Assist with orientation of new staff when appropriate
  • Perform additional tasks within CNA scope as trained and approved
