About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Mental Health Unit position is a full-time role on the night shift. The CNA performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This includes assisting patients with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, and eating. The role also involves collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens, gathering vital signs (but not administering IV fluids), and assisting physicians and nursing staff with procedures. Documentation of patient interactions is also a key part of the role. The position relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and involves performing a variety of tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification from an accredited nursing assistant program required
  • SRNA License to practice in the state of Kentucky
  • Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patient, guest, physicians, and other employees

Responsibilities

  • Performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Assists patients in dressing or undressing, bathing, or eating
  • Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs but does not start or administer intravenous fluids
  • Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed
  • Documents patient interactions as needed
  • Performs a variety of tasks
