Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant (or military medical specialty training) program OR Licensed Practical Nursing program required.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (or active NA-R and proof of passing the WA NA-C exam) or LPN with the Washington State Nursing Commission.
  • Current healthcare provider American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic skills in using a PC required.
  • Demonstrated experience as a nursing assistant required.
  • Must be able to lift, move or assist patients using proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs. and pull up to 100 lbs. is also required.
  • If you have not just completed a Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) training program in the last 4 months & received WA Licensure with Department of Health or worked as a paid Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) in the last 24 months, you must re-train and re-test in order to be eligible to work at Bailey-Boushay House as Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C).

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients in maintaining their dignity and physical well-being by providing compassionate, hands-on care to help them achieve their highest level of comfort and independence.
  • Manage essential aspects of patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, feeding, and maintaining hygiene.
  • Perform basic nursing tasks, including monitoring vital signs, conducting bedside blood glucose testing, and performing specialized respiratory care such as incentive spirometry, oxygen saturation checks, and nebulizer maintenance.
  • Assist with patient mobility by supporting ambulation, positioning, and transfers.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Accurately report changes in a patient’s condition.
  • Adhere to patient safety protocols.
