Under direct supervision, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists the professional nurse in providing direct and indirect patient care. This role is responsible for the care, comfort, and safety of assigned patients, utilizing proper infection prevention techniques and performing delegated nursing care procedures. The CNA observes patients, reports changes in condition, and assists with basic activities of daily living, patient mobility, and meal distribution. Promptly responding to patient call lights and requests is also a key function of this role.
