About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for assisting patients with their daily activities. This may include bathing and dressing, taking vital signs, collecting information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses and providers. The CNA answers patient calls. They observe the patient for skin integrity changes, turn and reposition, and transfer patients to bed, chair or wheelchair. The CNA maintains cleanliness in the patient care area, changing sheets and restocking supplies as needed. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the CNA provides a support function to the nurse by coordinating special tasks and assisting where needed. They collaborate with other members of the patient care team to provide care in accordance with the medical plan of care. The CNA must demonstrate technical competence, excellent communication skills, and sensitivity for the hospitalized patient and family. They need to be compassionate and enjoy helping others.

Responsibilities
