Requirements

Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and perform manual tasks
Knowledge of basic healthcare procedures and safety standards
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess a current Michigan Certified Nurse Aide Certification or have completed a Michigan-approved CNA training program and are eligible to test. Must be certified within 4 months of hire.
Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematics.
The ability to verbally communicate with residents, staff, and visitors.
Shows dependability by being punctual and maintaining good attendance.
The ability to maintain a safe environment for Residents and co-workers.
The ability to transport Residents and equipment as needed.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Manual dexterity required to operate modern office equipment.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in long-term care, hospice, or healthcare is desired (not required).

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
Provide basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff
Help patients with feeding and hydration as needed
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
Document patient care activities accurately and promptly
Support patients emotionally and provide comfort and reassurance
Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures
Ability to work nights and weekends to accommodate the needs of the guests.
Tolerate potential exposure to blood, body tissues, and fluids with occasional exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases.
Ability to travel as needed or assigned.
