About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant Works in collaboration with medical assistants and nurses to optimize provider time and exam room utilization by effectively managing patients' flow through the medical office visit. About Northside Christian Health Center North Side Christian Health Center is a comprehensive primary healthcare center established in 1993. NSCHC serves all patients without regard for their ability to pay. Our staff provides primary and preventive medical care for patients of all ages, mental and behavioral health services, dental care, and case management.

Requirements

  • Establishes favorable working relationships with all staff members associated with center operations, including nurses, physicians and related staff

  • Demonstrated success in customer service/patient services or working with the general public, preferably in a medical care facility
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing difficult customer situations
  • Demonstrates proficiency in handling of lab specimens
  • Prolonged sitting and/or standing and moving about throughout the workday; keyboarding
  • Local travel between clinic sites
  • Assists medical assistant with rotating evening and Saturday morning shifts.
  • Attends a minimum of one outreach event per calendar year
  • Potential exposure to biohazardous materials
  • Commitment to NSCHC faith-based mission to provide care to all who request it, without judgment
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant program.
  • Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record system.
  • One year of direct patient care experience required.
  • CPR/BLS for adult and child
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
  • Annual influenza vaccine
  • Must obtain or provide proof of (within 14 days of hire): PPD, Tdap, Hepatitis B Immunity, MMR Immunity, Varicella Immunity
  • Complete self-attestation of fitness for duty within 14 days of hire.

  • Experience with pediatrics highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safe, productive, and efficient operation of the clinic assigned through timely and attentive administrative and clinical support (as authorized or licensed)
  • Ensures all patients enjoy a positive experience, treated with the care and compassion expected
  • Ensures all patient records and related documents are managed and maintained timely, accurately, and consistent with all HIPAA and related regulations and requirements
  • Ensures all tasks provided and associated with patient care, patient administrative processes, and related duties comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as clinic policies and procedures
  • Ensures all necessary supplies are stocked. Promptly reports when supplies are low and works with Lead Medical Assistant to ensure timely reordering is completed
  • Maintains exam rooms according to protocols: Cleans rooms between patient exams to ensure patients' comfort and compliance with infection control standards
  • Prepares patients for clinical exam/visit, including the collection of typical pediatric or adult patient vital metrics (blood pressure, temperature, height, weight etc.)
  • Performs EKG's and provides assistance with specimen collection and processing.
  • Assists providers with clinical visits and outpatient office procedures, according to policy and procedure
  • Ensures completion of Social Determinants of Health Questionnaire with the patient, referring them to internal resources as applicable
  • Participates in departmental and organizational quality improvement projects.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by Clinical Director and/or Practice Coordinator
