Requirements

  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides compassionate, resident-centered care and daily living assistance to individuals in a long-term care setting under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Delivers age-appropriate care that supports both the physical and psychological well-being of each resident, following individualized care plans.
  • Adheres to established infection prevention and control practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and undressing.
  • Obtains and records vital signs.
  • Provides emotional and psychosocial support.
  • Assists residents with mobility needs, including transferring, repositioning, and ambulation, using safe and appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Performs range-of-motion and passive exercises as directed.
  • Contributes to a positive dining experience by assisting with helping residents with meals and snacks and ensuring adequate hydration and nutritional support in accordance with individual care plans.
