The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides non-professional routine nursing care to the residents of Christian Community Homes and Services in accordance with facility and state/federal guidelines. This role requires flexibility in work assignments, especially during staffing emergencies, where the CNA may be asked to work in other areas. The CNA must be able to perform assigned duties, plan and prioritize actions, and obtain pertinent resident information. Key responsibilities include assisting residents with daily hygiene, mobility, restorative care, admissions/discharges, and monitoring their intake and well-being. The CNA is also responsible for identifying and reporting resident distress, symptoms, and needs, while respecting resident choices and rights. Participation in care plan updates, diversional activities, and maintaining a safe and clean environment are also crucial. Effective communication with residents, families, and team members, adherence to infection control procedures, and compliance with regulatory agencies are expected. The CNA will work closely with the nursing team and ancillary departments, promoting customer satisfaction and positive relationships. Attending training, meetings, and following work assignments are also part of the role. The CNA must maintain good personal hygiene and adhere to the facility dress code, and may assume additional duties as assigned.
