The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs tasks essential to the direct care of the resident according to facility policy and procedures. This role allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety/dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of the facility to include resident privacy and dignity. The CNA assists with ensuring hygiene, appearance, safety, and nutritional needs of residents are met. They provide resident care and services to maintain or improve resident functional status to the highest practical ability. Documentation accurately in EMR resident's ADL care, personal hygiene, bowel and bladder habits, and behaviors is also a key responsibility. The CNA follows universal precautions, proper infection control, sanitation, and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
