Advocate Children's Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for their Peds Float Pool. This full-time position involves working 36 hours per week, with shifts from 7p-7a. The role requires working every third weekend and participating in a rotating holiday schedule. The CNA will assist Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation. Responsibilities also include measuring and documenting vital signs, intake and output, and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The CNA will perform purposeful rounding, assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, and ensure patient call lights are answered promptly. Specimen collection and point-of-care testing, maintaining nursing stock, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties are also key aspects of the role. Additional duties may include assisting with nutritional needs, maintaining skin integrity, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans under RN direction. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The position requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.
