About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to perform or oversee resident performance of personal care or assist residents to perform personal care, including dining services, in accordance with Facility policies and procedures. This position also oversees and coaches Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) when supervisor is unavailable.

  • Graduation from high school or GED preferred
  • Current Montana CNA certification, must be in good standing to work as a CNA in Montana OR Have a current CNA certification in another state AND be in the process of acquiring Montana certification within 30 days of transferring OR Have successfully completed CNA certification training class and be waiting for a certification letter from the Montana Licensure Bureau.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of residents, resident family members, coworkers, and Immanuel Living
  • Understand and support the philosophy, policies, and standards of Immanuel Living and the Assisted Living Department
  • Maintain quality of resident care, including compliance with Facility and Assisted Living Department policies and procedures, and State and Federal guidelines
  • Follow facility and department policies and procedures
  • Accurately and safely perform resident care in accordance with residents’ care plan, resident Assignment Sheet and worksheets, and nurses’ instructions
  • Answer call lights in a timely manner
  • Pick up and maintain resident rooms in a neat and orderly condition
  • Assist residents to and from meals, meetings, and activities, as needed
  • Straighten and maintain department rooms and equipment storage areas in a neat and orderly condition
  • Accurately record resident care on Resident Assignment Sheet
  • Inform Assisted Living Nurse Coordinator or Medication Nurse of improvement or decline in resident condition on a timely basis
  • At the end of assigned shift, give report to the incoming shift
  • Answer department telephone
  • Communicate with supervisor and participate in training and/or meetings that help facilitate departmental communication process
  • Communicate with others in a considerate manner
