This position is part of the Weekend Program Nights, working three 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1830 to 0700. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists the Registered Nurse (RN) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation. This role involves measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data, performing purposeful rounding, and participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes. The CNA is also responsible for specimen collection, maintaining nursing supplies, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transportation duties. Additionally, the role includes tasks related to maintaining skin integrity, and under RN direction, may involve removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The CNA must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development.
