Certified Nursing Assistant, Full-time, Night Shift
About The Position
Provides personal nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN). Performs routine tasks related to activities of daily living and self-care needs, and reports patient status and concerns to the RN. The role includes supporting patients with nutrition, hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning and restorative care; taking vital signs; assisting with bathing, dressing and feeding; and carrying out clerical duties that help the unit run smoothly. Other job-related duties may be assigned. The position is full-time on the night shift at Adventist Health Sonora, a healthcare provider serving Tuolumne and Calaveras counties and surrounding areas. Associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
- Associates are required to receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.
Nice To Haves
- High school education, GED or equivalent is preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification is preferred in California and Hawaii.
- Audiometry and vision training, or a certificate from CHDP, is preferred in California and Hawaii.
Responsibilities
- Perform activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints and restorative care.
- Take vital signs, including pulse and blood pressure.
- Assist patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing and feeding.
- Perform clerical duties, including routing patient reports as appropriate.
- Use organizational and prioritization skills to keep the unit running smoothly and meet deadlines.
- Provide assessment data to a certified nurse within the scope of practice, including vital signs and patient verbal and nonverbal responses.
- Report patient status and concerns to the RN.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
