This is a certified nursing assistant position for the Long-Term Care Campuses of La Crosse County. Employees work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Nurse Technician. The position is FLSA Non-Exempt and employees are appointed by the Director of Nursing and/or designee. The role requires assisting residents in all areas of personal hygiene, activities of daily living, and care of their room and personal belongings, while encouraging the highest practicable level of independence. Responsibilities include assisting residents at mealtime, providing supervision for safety, following directions from nurses, reporting changes in resident condition, performing simple medical duties, participating in care plan development, gathering and documenting resident data, and following all care plan approaches. The role also involves maintaining resident rights and confidentiality, working safely, and supporting person-centered care. CNA's who have completed an approved medication certification course will pass medication under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. CNA's assigned restorative programs will carry out recommendations/care plans for restorative care as developed by therapists and nurse managers.
