About The Position

Mennonite Village is a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that has been serving the Mid-Willamette Valley for over 78 years. Our purpose is to be a community where residents live their best life. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Mennonite Village, you'll play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our beloved residents! Your day will be filled with meaningful interactions as you adhere to individualized care plans, providing essential hygiene and general care for their skin, hair, and more. You'll support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while ensuring their dignity and privacy are always maintained. Monitoring and documenting fluid and nutritional intake, alongside vital signs, will keep you engaged and connected to each resident's unique needs. Plus, there's no shortage of emotional support and encouragement as you motivate residents to participate in various activities. With a focus on safety, you'll expertly assist with mobility and transfers, using equipment like Hoyer lifts and gait belts. Every day will be a chance to celebrate compassion and service while making a positive impact in their lives!

Requirements

  • Exceptional communication skills to engage with elderly individuals.
  • Patience, tact, and willingness to handle challenging situations.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Professional conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Ability to accurately document activities of daily living.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Compassionate bedside manner and empathy toward residents.
  • Understanding of and commitment to resident rights and dignity.
  • Valid CNA certification in Oregon within first 120 days of employment.
  • CPR/AED required within first 120 days of employment.
  • Criminal background check is required for new hires.
  • Must be able to work Tuesday - Wednesday (6am - 2:15pm).
